Meals in the Making is a Birmingham family-owned
and operated business.  Our independent entree
assembly kitchen was the first in Birmingham
opening in February 2006.  Operated by a busy
person like you, owner and manager, Deb Gorecki,
along with Culinard trained Executive Chef,
Keith Cochran, understand the value of your time
and plan meals that are easy to pop in the oven and
serve making more time for family and friends.

Many of us face the challenge to provide nutritious
and affordable meals for our families in today's
economy.   Keeping this in mind each month as
they plan delicious dishes for your table, Deb and
Chef Keith continue their committment to providing the
highest quality and freshest ingredients for each dish.   

Meals in the Making is actively involved  in Birmingham
community events and service.   We are proud of our
great State, its rich traditions and culinary heritage.
Being a girl from the South,  Deb enjoys making new
friends and invites you to stop in our warm and friendly
kitchen,  smell  the wonderful aromas and enjoy  a cup

Meals in the Making is a time saving and affordable way to prepare a variety of great meals. We help eliminate the chore of endless (and now more expensive!) grocery shopping, confusing meal planning, dreaded dinnertime cleanup and wasted food.
 
Our service and food is designed to cater specifically to your needs.  Whether you are feeding a family of 6 or are looking for single servings, our kitchen has packages and meals for you.  If you are on a specific diet, have food allergies, or are a vegetarian, our chefs will work with you.  And if you are simply looking to get a fresh meal on the table that is delicious, affordable and quick . . . well, that is exactly what we do!  Meals in the Making takes special pride in offering quality fresh ingredients in which to assemble your dishes.  Fresh ground ginger, fresh minced garlic and homemade sauces are some of the sights and smells that you will experience in our kitchen.

Purchasing meals is easy!  You can place your order online, on the phone or come into the store to both pick up meals immediately or place an order for a future session.  Check out our menus that change each month to offer you a great variety and feel free to contact us with any questions on menus or logistics regarding the kitchen.  Our kitchen is open every weekday from 11am - 6pm for your convenience to drop in, purchase dishes from our well-stocked Meals for the Taking freezer and just see what we are all about.  "Do It Yourself" assembly sessions and Preassembled Pickup sessions are available Tuesdays - Fridays.  Simply place your order by Wednesday of the week prior to your session choice.  Groups and Parties are always welcome and we'll be happy to reserve the kitchen exclusively for your group by special appointment.

What’s new at Meals in the Making?
Meals in the Making now has single serving meals. Each month most all of our dishes are available in a single portion.  Check out our selection under “menus” for each month's custom form that can be emailed or faxed to us.

Meals in the Making is pleased to be one of the first in Birmingham in providing vegetarian and vegan dishes to our customers.  Let us suggest a variety of specialty dishes for any palate and we are happy to quote prices upon request.  Most of our monthly recipes can be adapted to work for a vegetarian diet too.   Call us – we’ll work with your specific preferences.
